
The talented musicians that make up Sweet Spirit have over 125 years of combined musical experience! Each band member brings their unique background and experience together to form this very special band.
Sweet Spirit performs at a variety of events, including weddings and parties. Their repertoire includes many wedding and party favorites, but something that sets Sweet Spirit apart from typical bands is the collection of Contemporary Christian music in their play list. This versatility allows Sweet Spirit work closely with each client to create the perfect mix of music appropriate for your event.

Lead Vocalist Joni Lambert’s experience includes singing backup vocals for “Disco Queen” Donna Summer. A performance artist since childhood, she has performed in countless shows and plays and with several bands. Joni had four years of formal vocal training. She also had a leading role in the off-Broadway musical, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”. Joni is also a professional voice over artist.
Lead
Guitarist, Bob LeBlanc, is a self-taught musician. As
a 10 year-old child he fashioned his own guitar out of a cardboard box lid and
rubber bands. Bob has been playing in bands since he was 15 years old. Now a
seasoned performer, audiences in the New England area have been enjoying Bob's
special blend of jazz and pop ever since. Bob's CD project, "His Call" features
the touching song "Cassie's Witness", written in memory of Cassie Bernall, the
young Christian girl who was martyred for her faith during the Columbine High
School shooting disaster. Bob has
played with bands that opened for such acts as “The Spinners”,
Howie Mandel, and “Three Dog Night”.

Keyboard Player Sandra Field taught piano for over 20 years. She performed with the Cheshire Symphony Orchestra for two years. Sandra has directed numerous choral groups and music groups. Her God-given gift for music theory and harmonies makes Sandra an invaluable member of the band.

John Michael Burns, aka "JB", has been playing drums for over 30 years. His talent and passion for the instrument has enabled him to play all over the northeast, playing many styles including rock, blues, country, Latin, funk, R&B and jazz. He has held the drum chair in numerous groups including Lost Cloud Band, Marocka, Benny Diaz Trio, Urban Jazz Five/Flashpoint, Fretwater, Stone Road, Big Daddy Jambone, Undercover Band, Organic Blues Trio, and Lost Highway. He has also performed with Plexus Jazz Ensemble, Gina Gunn and the Bullets, Alec James Group, Ed and The Bluepills, Street Temperature and Souled Out. well known and respected within the music community, JB has always made an effort to help aspiring young musicians and can often be found at Black Eyed Sally's Wednesday night open mike. He has participated in numerous recording projects, not only as a drummer, but also as a composer, lyricist, singer and producer. In 2005, he played on and produced a CD of old-school jazz tunes titled, "The Flightpath Sessions", which received excellent reviews. JB has been blessed to play with many gifted musicians including Tommy Whalen, Jeff Pevar, Burt Teague, Steve Clark, Egor Lepak, Miyanna Nielsen, Tim McDonald, Tom Cote, Bob Laramie, Edward Friedman, Steve Benson, Margo Hayes, Johnny Larsen, Mark Nomad, Jeffrey Chambers, Gene Donaldson, Rick Hanville, Angela Grano, Lance James, Patty Tuite, Ray Morant, Pat Nigro, Alan Becker, Tony Parlapianio, Dave Natalie, George Dudek, Matt Ziener, Tom Pietre, Dan McNamara, and Frank Varela. "To me", JB says, "music transcends all human barriers and is a constant source of inspiration. On stage there are magical moments. Emotion pours forth from your heart and soul through your instrument to the listener. It is truly spiritual. Music is a gift from God and h as the power to heal."
